The Men’s 2021 PGA National Club Championship will be heading to historic Pinehurst Resort in March 2021. This invite-only tournament field will be made up of the top amateur men’s golfers from around the country who have won their club championship during the 2020 calendar year.
Receiving an invitation to the PGA Club Championship is quite an honor since the field is only made up of an exclusive group of club champions. The championship brings together a wide variety of golfers from nearly all 50 states. Public or private. Small or large. All club champions from facilities with a PGA Professional and their families are welcome to attend the event.
The championship is a 3-day, 54 hole stroke play competition with a Men’s and Senior Men’s division each with separate prizing. Competition rounds will take place on on Pinehurst Resort courses No. 2, No. 6, and No. 8
Learn more about the 208 male competitors playing in the field and their PGA Professionals who coach them.
PGA Professionals will receive hard-copy invitations for the club champions at the golf course as well as digital invitations via email. If you are a club champ, please ask your PGA Professional for the invitation or contact Kris Hart at KHart@pgahq.com. All club champions will need to be verified by the PGA Professional.
The World Amatuer Golf Rankings will recognize the Men’s PGA National Championship – WAGR coverage includes more than 10,000 players from 102 countries, and more than 4,000 ranking tournaments played in 104 countries.
The field will be limited to club champions only and due to the nature of the invite process, acceptances will be taken first come first served until the field is full.
Pinehurst No. 2, the centerpiece of Pinehurst Resort, remains one of the world’s most celebrated golf courses. It has served as the site of more single golf championships than any course in America and hosted back-to-back U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open Championships for the first time in 2014. The U.S. Open will return in 2024.
No. 6 is a departure from other Pinehurst courses in both design and temperament. Designed by Tom Fazio with the help of his uncle George, and provides one of the tougher challenges that Pinehurst has to offer. This course provides many more tree-lined fairways and has significantly less bunkers and waste areas than courses No. 2, No. 4, or No. 8.
Pinehurst No. 8 finds itself on North Carolina’s Top Golf Courses on almost every list you can find. Designed by Tom Fazio, the course is a nod at Pinehurst No. 2 with some added elements. Natural wetlands, rolling terrain, and incredible variety between holes makes this course one of the most complete on Pinehurst’s property.

Players must communicate their desired division at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the championship
The cost is $700 for the entry fee which includes 3 rounds of championship golf on Courses No. 2, No. 6, and No 8 (cart is included or players may bring walk or bring their own caddies). Players need to sign up and pay for the Player Entry Fee to “reserve their spot.” Since registrations are completed on a rolling basis spots cannot be held.
